The problem was bigger than messaging
PING started with a wish to bring back the sense of closeness of classic messengers without repeating their limitations. Many modern platforms put channels and features ahead of people. This product reverses that hierarchy: presence comes first, then interaction.
From intent to system
I designed the experience and built the frontend for contacts, availability states, conversations and Spaces. The app connects audio and video call flows, screen sharing and session continuity across devices. The goal is to make complex technical systems feel straightforward in everyday use.
Engineering decisions
The work spans call-state architecture, reconnection handling, real-time interface synchronization and communication security. An Electron desktop client is developed as part of the product experience rather than as a generic browser wrapper.
What this case demonstrates
An evolving independent product where interface direction, frontend engineering, architecture and feedback-driven iteration inform one another. The image documents the public product presentation, not an authenticated session.
